Former housemates of the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) have opened up about how the show significantly transformed their lives and careers.

Speaking during the birthday celebration of BBNaija host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu in Lagos, stars from various seasons shared emotional reflections on their journeys post-show.

Ebuka, a renowned TV personality, credited BBNaija for giving him his start in media:

“I was a lawyer. TV wasn’t even part of the plan. But BBNaija helped me discover my potential as a presenter. Without it, there would be no TV career for me.”

Actress Bisola Aiyeola echoed similar sentiments:

“I knew I was destined for success in entertainment, but BBNaija fast-tracked everything. It took me several steps ahead, faster than I could imagine.”

Mercy Eke, winner of the ‘Pepper Dem’ season, said the show completely changed her life:

It changed me, my brand, and my whole existence. I owe a lot to the platform.

Singer Laycon, who emerged winner of the ‘Lockdown’ edition, said:

“BBNaija skyrocketed my music career. It took things off the roof!”

Filmmaker Elozonam also emphasized the exposure the show provided:

“It elevated my brand and gave me visibility.”

Other alumni like KimOprah, Adekunle, and Gideon Okeke shared similar thoughts, each highlighting how BBNaija gave them a platform to shine in their respective careers—whether in acting, hosting, music, or podcasting.
