Geh Geh Calls Burna Boy’s ₦9bn Bugatti a Financial Mistake

Geh Geh demands the sale of a Burna Boy Bugatti worth about ₦9 billion, calling the Chiron a waste while Nigerians face hunger and bad roads

Geh Geh, the Nigerian social commentator, has given Damini Ogulu, the singer known as Burna Boy, 24 hours to sell a Burna Boy Bugatti Chiron said to be worth about ₦9 billion, calling the purchase a financial mistake.

The rebuke came in a video on 22 September 2026, after clips of the new car circulated online.

Geh Geh said the outlay made little sense in a country short of usable roads and still living with hunger.

“Burna Boy, that your car wey you buy eh, call Aboki iron condemn make them come carry that financial mistake wey you buy from your compound. It’s a shame. I no believe when I see that video,” he said.

He then set the deadline.

“Call Aboki now. I’m giving 24 hours. That car you buy, what benefit is it to me as a Nigerian?”

He returned to the same point in plainer terms. “You carry billions of Naira go buy car wey no get use to you and the country you come from. You don go buy car where the road to drive am? Nigerians are hungry and you are buying a car.”

The scathing clip split opinion at once.

Some users backed him. One wrote that the problem was not the badge on the bonnet but buying a ₦9 billion car in a country where the owner would still meet potholes, generators and insecurity within two kilometres.

Others pointed to Sadio Mané’s public spending in Senegal and said Nigerian stars did too little for the poor.

Supporters of Burna Boy answered that the car can hold or gain value, that the singer already funds projects, and that a man may spend what he earns.

One critic turned the camera on Geh Geh himself, asking why he owns a Mercedes GLE if luxury is the offence.

Burna Boy has not, in the immediate reaction to the video, issued a public reply.
