Kizz Daniel Owo Oluwa marks his first official 2026 single, blending Afrobeats, gospel influences and gratitude ahead of Radio Gidi
Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, professionally known as Kizz Daniel, has returned to Nigeria’s music scene with “Owo Oluwa”, his first official single of 2026 and the lead release from his forthcoming album, Radio Gidi.
Released on 16 September, the song brings Kizz Daniel together with singer and producer Young Jonn, hitmaker Krizbeatz and Wave Choir in a reflective record centred on faith, gratitude and divine favour.
Apple Music lists the track as Kizz Daniel’s latest release and credits all three collaborators.
The release gives Kizz Daniel’s new campaign a noticeably spiritual opening. Rather than leaning entirely on the party-driven energy associated with some of his biggest records, “Owo Oluwa” combines Afrobeats rhythms with gospel-inspired choral arrangements.
The title, “Owo Oluwa”, is commonly translated as “God’s hand” or “the hand of God”. The song’s message follows that theme, with Kizz Daniel reflecting on blessings, protection and gratitude.
Krizbeatz handles the production, while Wave Choir supplies the prominent choral passages and Young Jonn contributes vocals.
Reports on the arrangement describe an opening with house-influenced textures before the record settles into a heavier Afrobeats groove.
The collaboration also gives the record a communal quality. Wave Choir’s harmonies sit behind Kizz Daniel’s lead vocal, creating a praise-oriented refrain, while Krizbeatz’s production keeps the track connected to contemporary Nigerian pop.
The single had generated anticipation before its release, with Kizz Daniel teasing the rollout on social media and directing listeners towards the new project.
The release subsequently appeared on major streaming platforms, with Apple Music recording 16 September as its release date.
“Owo Oluwa” is also significant because it begins Kizz Daniel’s planned 2026 album campaign.
The singer announced earlier in the year that he intended to release two projects, Radio Gidi and Uncle K, following his 2025 EP, Uncle K: Lemon Chase. QED reports that the singer disclosed the plans in May while thanking fans for their patience as he prepared the projects.
The new single arrives after a quieter period of official releases. It follows Uncle K: Lemon Chase, which featured artists including FOLA, Odumodublvck and Bella Shmurda, while Kizz Daniel’s most recent full-length album remains Maverick, released in 2023.
That history gives “Owo Oluwa” a little more weight than a routine standalone release. It is both a return to the foreground and an introduction to what Kizz Daniel appears to be building with Radio Gidi.
The choice of a gratitude-led song is particularly striking within a catalogue that includes widely recognised dance and crossover records such as “Woju”, “Buga”, “Cough (Odo)” and “Twe Twe”.
The new record does not abandon the rhythmic foundation of Kizz Daniel’s music, but places a more reflective message at its centre.
The result is a warm and deliberately uplifting opening to the next chapter of his career, with the combination of choir vocals, Afrobeats percussion and familiar melodic phrasing giving the single a distinct character.
For Kizz Daniel, “Owo Oluwa” therefore serves two purposes: it marks his first official release of 2026 and begins the musical journey towards Radio Gidi.
