A cross section of Nigerian celebrities, including singer Paul Okoye, comedian Mr Macaroni, and actor Kunle Remi, have voiced strong criticism over the rising insecurity in the country following a deadly attack in Jos.

Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, reacted to the incident on Palm Sunday in Jos, expressing frustration over what he described as a lack of public outrage.

The singer, who hails from the city, stated that Nigerians are not angry enough about the persistent wave of insecurity, suggesting that the situation may continue unchecked without stronger collective reaction.

In his own response, Mr Macaroni condemned the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as incompetent and irresponsible.

The comedian and activist argued that Nigerians are confronted daily with repeated tragedies and questioned the government’s handling of the situation.

Mr Macaroni also raised concerns about the President’s silence following reports of multiple fatalities in the Jos attack, questioning why a formal address to the nation had not been delivered despite the severity of the incident.

He further criticised what he termed a lack of accountability within the current administration.

Kunle Remi also joined the conversation with a pointed appeal to Nigerians, urging them to draw attention to insecurity by incorporating images and videos of ongoing hardships into public messages, including birthday wishes to the President.

In a video broadcast, the actor suggested that such imagery would better reflect the reality faced by citizens amid national celebrations.

The remarks from the three public figures have contributed to a broader wave of online discourse, as Nigerians continue to grapple with concerns over recurring violence and its impact on daily life.
