Speaking during an interview with BBC Yoruba, the 45-year-old actor explained that the emotional bond built with a child from infancy cannot be erased by the outcome of a DNA test.

According to him, it would be unfair for a child to suffer because of circumstances beyond their control.

“If DNA says my child isn’t mine, and I have taken the child from infancy as mine, and the child also knows me as his father, I will wholeheartedly accept the child as mine,” Salami said.

He added that the child would continue to bear his name and see him as a father figure, stressing that the issue would be strictly between him and his wife rather than involving the child.

“The child will claim my name forever and also see me as his father, because it’s not the child that created himself or herself,” he said.
