Sabinus raised the issue in a social media post on Tuesday, questioning why citizens who speak out about challenges affecting the country are often discouraged from doing so.

According to the comedian, Nigerians who demand accountability from those in power are sometimes told to “mind their business”.

He, however, noted that those who choose to stay away from public affairs can also face criticism and insults.

“A lot is going on in this country and we’re just keeping quiet,” Sabinus wrote.

“You demand for good governance, they tell you to mind your business. You try to mind your business, they still insult you.

“When are we going to come as one and demand for what we’re being owed?”

The comedian’s comments highlighted his concern over the apparent reluctance of Nigerians to collectively demand better governance and accountability.

Sabinus stressed the importance of citizens coming together to address issues affecting the country rather than remaining silent or allowing divisions to prevent collective action.
