Fast-rising Nollywood actress Temitope Hazmat has addressed misconceptions about her personality, revealing that she is often misjudged as proud or unapproachable.

Hazmat, popularly known as B-Solution, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, shedding light on her career and the challenges facing Nigeria’s entertainment sector.

Hazmat explained that her straightforward communication style and clear articulation are frequently mistaken for arrogance.

“I know when to talk, how to talk and where to talk. This should not be mistaken for arrogance or lack of empathy,” she said.

Outside of filming, the actress dedicates her time to research, script review, and creative development.

She described music as an essential source of inspiration and mental balance, noting that acting has helped her cultivate confidence, empathy, creativity, and effective communication skills.

Highlighting the obstacles she has faced in the industry, Hazmat identified typecasting, objectification, sexism, and pressures to conform to unrealistic beauty standards as persistent challenges.

She emphasised that consistency, independence, patience, focus, and strong moral principles are crucial for longevity in Nollywood.

Looking ahead, Hazmat expressed her ambition to produce films, citing the greater creative control it offers over storytelling.

She also advocated for professionalism and accountability, maintaining detailed documentation of her professional engagements.

On the future of Nollywood, Hazmat urged for increased inclusivity, improved talent development through mentorship and training, and more innovative content that explores diverse themes and technologies.

She further highlighted piracy, inadequate infrastructure, funding difficulties, and talent retention as key factors constraining the industry’s growth.
