Fashion designer and public figure Veekee James has responded to criticism from a fan who described her two-piece outfit as “not fully Christian,” asserting that her personal faith guides her style and public expression.

The criticism came via Snapchat, where a follower wrote, “That your two-piece dressing was not necessary. If you want to portray yourself as an image of Christ, embrace it fully.”

James, who is expecting her first child with husband Femi Atere, replied firmly, stating, “You think it is me you will tell how to live my Christian life. I will not change who I am or how I serve my God, or how I express my faith. You think I have time for hypocrisy.”

Veekee and Femi Atere married in February 2024 in a widely covered ceremony that attracted considerable social media attention. The couple announced in early 2026 that they are expecting their first child.

The designer has previously sparked discussion online with candid remarks on relationships, marriage, and personal boundaries.
