Yul Edochie defends Tinubu says Nigerians hate hardship not the president

Yul Edochie defends Tinubu, stating Nigerians hate hardship, not the President, while urging action on insecurity and high cost of living

Yul Edochie defends Tinubu in a public statement, asserting that the President is not personally hated by Nigerians but is rather caught in the wave of national frustration stemming from insecurity and economic hardship.

The Nollywood actor and vocal supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made this known on Monday through a post on his verified Instagram page.

Edochie praised the President’s efforts in infrastructure development and policy formulation, while also calling on him to urgently address pressing issues affecting the citizenry.

“To my dear President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Nigerians do not hate you, they hate the situation they find themselves in, which is the hardship and insecurity in the country. His Excellency Sir, you have done so well in infrastructure and laid down some good policies,” Edochie stated.

The actor’s message resonated with ongoing public discourse surrounding the administration’s mid-term performance, particularly in light of the rising cost of living and persistent security threats across the country.

His comments come amid mixed reviews of the President’s governance style, with infrastructure often cited as a notable area of progress.

Edochie further advised Tinubu on how to win public trust and admiration. “Tackle insecurity and high cost of living. You’ll write your name with gold in the hearts of Nigerians,” he added, positioning his message as both praise and plea.

The actor’s remarks align with broader reactions from political figures and commentators. Just recently, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Heineken Lokpobiri came to Tinubu’s defence amid criticism over the political unrest in Rivers State.

A separate mid-term report by the Citizens Project also acknowledged Tinubu’s achievements while pointing out areas requiring urgent attention.
