In a video shared on Instagram on Monday, Edochie said, “The next President of Nigeria should come from the South-East in fairness and equity. That’s just the truth and that’s how it should be.”

His statement caught many off guard, given his consistent support for President Bola Tinubu. Edochie has been vocal in urging Nigerians to remain patient with the Tinubu-led administration, assuring them that its economic reforms will yield results in due time.

Despite his alignment with the current leadership, Edochie insists that 2027 offers a chance to address longstanding regional imbalance in the country’s power structure.
